  1. Question

    Kat

Do you plan to offer single, pot-only options? I only need two pots and I don’t need the whole starter kit. Also, do you foresee you having a “clear” option that shows the natural color of the medium? Thank you!

Thank you for your response. I meant a clear glaze so you can see the natural ceramic.

I see. Ebay probably has the widest assortment of unglazed pots. You can also try StoneLantern.com

      Thanks

Thanks for the message. We do not offer stand alone pots at this time. The price would only decrease by about 75 cents. We do not carry clear pots.

Have a great week. Please call or email if you have questions or concerns.

I LOVE the torquoise colored pot in the original picture. I don’t see that color offered. Will you be offering this color as one of the choices?
I am new to this site.

Would this size be suitable for a small ripple jade plant? It is currently still in a plastic nursary pot.

    • Bonsai Jack

Thanks for the message. It depends on the size of the plant. Generally you want to up-size the container. These are small 4 inch pots. If your current pot is two inches for example it will work. If your existing pot is 4 inches I would recommend upgrading to a 6 inch terra cotta. Have a great week. Please call or email if you have questions or concerns.

Thanks for the message. Our 111 gritty mix is a good option. You can use it as is or add some of your favorite potting soil.

  7. Question

    Bonnie Weber

After testing water using the strips which were enclosed with my soil order, what does the color represent? How do I apply this information to my plant care?

    • Bonsai Jack

Thanks for the message Bonnie. pH is nothing to be too concerned about. It’s strictly an information tool. Every grower should know the pH of water used on plants. The only time it can really case problems is when you see numbers under 5 or over 9. You should take corrective action(on some plants) if you see numbers like this.

      Have a great week.

      Thanks
      Jack

  8. Question

    Alana Reid

I’m worried the pots won’t be deep enough to allow for new roots. My current pot is over 2 inches deep. Is the depth of the pot going to be a problem?

    • Bonsai Jack

      Hello Alana,

Thanks for the message. Bonsai pots are very shallow and are not a good choice for some plants. You want to use a pot size that fits your plant. If you have already purchased the pots and need to return them please email us for a return label. We accept returns for any reason and never charge a restocking fee. We also cover the return postage.

Have a great week. Please call or email if you have questions or concerns.

There used to be more options for pot sizes, is the 4” pot the only size you sell at this time?

      Hello Vanessa,

We have discontinued all pots over 4 inches. We will be expanding the 4 inch selection soon.

      Have a great week

I have bought several styles of the 4″ pots. Russian Blue oval which I think is the smallest but its also finely detailed, Ocean Blue which is a small rectangle shape & a little bigger and then my newest choice, the Basil Green oval which I found to be the biggest 4″ pot & its very sweet but functional & my new favorite. The Green Basil oval fits my plants better I think, I can get more surface soil than with the Russian Blue but I’m really happy with them all.

My husband has a very small bonsai. A juniper I think. It’s about 5”x5”. He wants to repot it and already has some of your bonsai soil, would this pot suit his needs?

    • Bonsai Jack

Hello. Thanks for the message. A 4inch pot is probably too small for his plant. I would recommend visiting a local bonsai nursery to see what they have available. You can use the nursery locator tool at the bottom of our page to find one near you.

      I hope this helps.

      Thanks
      Jack
